It seems like, these days, the straight-six is starting to regain a good bit of popularity. A few automakers have recently brought inline-six engines back into the fold, such as Mazda’s 3.3-liter e-Skyactiv G mill. In addition, Toyota’s resurrection of the Supra brought forth a new straight-six, but it’s not actually a Toyota-bred mill. Instead, the Japanese automaker turned to BMW for the fifth-gen Supra’s powerplant, which is known as the BMW B58.
