The fact that vehicles have become larger and heavier over the past few decades is hard to ignore, especially when you see a 20- or 30-year-old car drive past, and realize that despite being a wagon, it’s smaller than your compact executive sedan. With all the extra safety gear and advanced technology shoved into every free bit of space available in modern cars, it perhaps isn’t a surprise that the bloating has gotten so bad.
