National multifamily developer Wood Partners is expanding its presence in Massachusetts with the construction of a sustainable 237-unit community in Concord, about 20 miles northwest of Boston. The company has broken ground on the property and expects to wrap up construction in February 2028.
Located at 265 and 269 Forest Ridge Rd, Alta Thoreau will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom units across two five-story buildings. The property will feature contemporary exterior architecture along with a Modern Agrarian interior design inspired by the surrounding woodlands. Amenities will include pilates and yoga studios, a golf simulator and tavern lounge, a work-from-home area, a pool, and a pet spa and dog park.
Run entirely on electric power, the community will be Wood Partners’ first property in Massachusetts designed to the Passive House ultra-low energy use standard. Twenty-five percent of Alta Thoreau’s homes will be designated as affordable housing. Atlanta-based Wood Partners currently owns more than 80 properties across the U.S. totaling around 25,000 homes, including eight existing projects in Massachusetts.
