2027 Kia K5 Gets a Tiny Price Bump, Drops Most Expensive Trim

Kia has announced pricing for the U.S.-spec 2027 K5, and while the mid-size sedan is more expensive for the new model year, it’s not a big jump at just 300 bucks across the board. That seems fair given that the 2027 K5 is mostly unchanged from 2026, though it’s worth noting that the 2026 model also got a $400 price bump over 2025. The 2026 K5 also saw its destination charge rise slightly, and that’s again the case here; the base Kia K5 LXS starts at $27,690 for 2027, a $300 price bump, before a $1,245 destination charge ($70 higher than last year, helping absorb tariff costs). This means the latest K5 starts at $28,935 with destination included, with the other significant change to the K5 lineup coming in the form of new options.

2027 Kia K5 Gets Minor Changes

The Kia K5 arrived in 2019 to replace the Optima, and it’s already had one facelift in 2023, so either another facelift or a full redesign are expected at some point in 2027. In the meantime, the top-tier EX trim has been dropped, but there’s now a convenience package available for the GT-Line, adding ventilated seats, a memory seat for the driver, and power-folding wing mirrors. The GT-Line sits in the middle of the range, as seen in the MY2027 pricing table below.

As standard, most trims of the 2027 Kia K5 feature a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine sending 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque to the front axle via an eight-speed automatic, with the GT-Line also offering an all-wheel-drive powertrain. The exception is the performance-biased K5 GT, which adds a turbo and uses a dual-clutch instead of a torque converter automatic to handle its 290 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque, enough to drop the 0-60 mph time from 8.5 seconds to a respectable 5.4.

With the 2026 Honda Accord starting at $28,395 before destination and the 2027 Toyota Camry at $29,700 before destination, the 2027 Kia K5 continues to undercut some of its competition, and Kia’s excellent warranty coverage is hard to ignore. It’s also worth noting that the Accord’s price will probably see similar bumps for 2027. Finally, we should point out that if getting the absolute cheapest midsize sedan is your goal, the 2026 Nissan Altima starts at just $27,580 before destination for 2026, and the 2026 Hyundai Sonata starts at $25,650 before destination, so there are even more affordable options on the market, especially if you don’t need the latest model.
