The Ardent Companies and Ironwood Development Partners announced the opening of a Class-A self-storage facility in Woonsocket, RI. Located at 153 Hamlet Ave., the three-story, 80,000-square-foot property features 913 climate-controlled units. It will be managed by Extra Space Storage.
The project marks Ardent’s first completed development in Rhode Island and the 10th asset delivered through its Self-Storage Development Fund II. A long-vacant brownfield, the site has been transformed into a facility that expands access to modern storage and advances the ongoing revitalization of the surrounding area. Before construction, the property was remediated through the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management’s voluntary cleanup program.
“This site offered the rare combination of high visibility, a dense population base and the opportunity to bring a property back into productive use,” said Ricardo De Rojas, managing director at Ardent. “We’re proud to deliver a quality facility that meets a clear market need while creating long-term value for the community.”
