The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority Commission (FCEDA) has named George D. Thomas its next president and CEO.
Thomas, an economic development executive and technology strategist, brings over 25 years of leadership experience across economic development, technology, infrastructure, investment attraction, workforce development and public-private partnerships.
Thomas succeeds Victor Hoskins, who is leaving the role after seven years. “George Thomas represents the next generation of economic development leadership,” said Fairfax County Economic Development Commission Chair James Quigley. “His ability to bring together government, industry, universities, investors, entrepreneurs, and community leaders around a shared vision for growth makes him uniquely qualified to lead Fairfax County forward.”
Thomas joins FCEDA from Connected DMV, where he served as President and CEO, transforming the organization from a volunteer coalition into a multi-million-dollar innovation enterprise focused on advancing regional competitiveness. During his tenure, Connected DMV launched innovation centers dedicated to quantum technology, energy and space.
