In a list of the greatest engines of all time, the AMC 4.0 straight six that appeared in 1986 and ended production in 2006 ranks high in both the off-road and reliability categories. Mainly found in Jeep models before the Jeep Wrangler arrived, it’s amazing that this engine is so good considering the circumstances it was created under.
