When General Motors revealed the “California Corvette” design study last week, the company’s design arm said that it would feature removable upper bodywork to transform into a lightweight, track-focused open-air machine. But despite the claim, we didn’t really know what such a Corvette would look like – until now. On its Instagram, GM Design shared images of the California Corvette in various states of undress, showing not only a sleek speedster but also an aggressive open-wheel racing car that looks like an Ariel Atom had a run-in with a carbon fiber loom. As if the design study couldn’t get any cooler.
