Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is one of only a handful of technologies that have actually filtered down from Formula 1 racing. Ferrari would have us believe that the F1-style gearbox in the 355 filtered down from Michael Schumacher’s racing machine, but in reality it was an automated manual with an electronic override. F1 gearboxes are specialized sequential gearboxes that cost more than the most expensive Ferrari you can buy today, but I digress.
