The way we categorize cars and performance levels has changed over the years, as has the power and capability of the Viper and the Corvette. Though both Dodge and Chevrolet initially marketed these machines as sports cars sports cars, more modern-day examples and specialty variations are planted firmly within supercar territory. Still, from their onset, these were both sports cars by the classic definition of the term: developed and engineered exclusively for performance fun, with no mass-market commuter compromises.
